What IS Chair Yoga?
Chair Yoga is a modified form of traditional yoga using a chair as a prop. Typically chair yoga is thought of as a class only for the elderly but this just isn't true. While chair yoga is GREAT for elderly because it allows you the ease of sitting in a chair instead of getting up and down off the floor which some seniors have difficulty with, it is also great for ANYONE! Who says we just SIT in the chair? For workplace yoga, a form of chair yoga, we also STAND by the chair.
What is wonderful about chair yoga is that it can be made a the gentlest of classes for those in pain, disabilities, special needs or in wheelchairs OR it can also be used as a fitness class to focus on deep stretches and strength. It is much more versatile than given credit for.

The Chair Yoga training taught me so much about ways to improve my body while sitting in a chair or using it for balance. Training Schedule
Here's what the training days will consist of:
10:30a-12p Intro, Book, Pranayama Practice, Student practice
12p-12:30p Lunch
12:30p-1:30p Chair Yoga Class - varies
1:45p-3:30p Discussion and Practice
3:30p-4:30p Meditation Practice
On the last Sunday - Our final day
The difference will be
3:15-4:30p - 30 min. Student led practice for yoga clients
(This is a great way to learn, by practicing on REAL clients!)
